Well there goes project week. I’ll have to say, I really underestimated this project. Everyone was in full gear and ready for war. I however waited till the weekend. It pretty much felt like I locked myself in a bunker and threw away the key and I had to figure my way out. It was quite the exercise . Four to five CLI-Projects later I had to slim down one of my last projects just to make do. I am sure I will go back to all of them eventually to complete them. It will be a great assignment / accompliment to do so. I started from a Netflix API, to a nokogiri scrapper, that collects facts about Puerto Rico, to a freemium api. Finally I joined my last two project a micro poetry scraper with a poetry api. I admit scrapers are fun, I really wish I had more experience using them. I went ahead and picked up a book on “nokogiri” yesterday just to prepare myself going forward.
My final project is a poetry / poem generator which publishes a poem under 11 lines from its collection. Working around colleagues and seeing all their fun ideas, I also wanted to make something that I would learn from and enjoy. I already have phase two planned for it. Can’t wait to tackle it going forward.
